If you’ve managed to tear yourself away from the beach, pool, and golf course, you’re in for a treat, because we’re heading for the black sand beach at Pololu, and then along the Hamakua coast towards Hilo. This northern point of the island is less frequented by tourists, but has many unique experiences and sights to offer. You can hike down to the exotic Pololu beach, enjoy the idyllic beauty of Waipi'o Valley, marvel at the beauty of Akaka Falls, and take in the views at Laupahoehoe Point.
