The Kohala Coast on the north side of the island is home to many of the big resorts and golf courses on the island. The towns of Waikoloa, Puako, Hapuna Beach, and Hawi offer picturesque, peaceful Hawaiian beaches along with some of the best resorts and golfing on the island. Most notably, the Mauna Kea Resort, consists of the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel and Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, share facilities and allow guests to walk along the coast between the two.
